TiketCaribbean FAQ

Question 1

Is TiketCaribbean free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Creating an account, browsing events, saving events, following organisers and using Wah Happening Corner are free. Free events on TiketCaribbean are free to attend. Events sold on other sites are priced by that site.

Question 2

Do I need the app, or can I use the website?

Accepted Answer

Both work with the same account. The mobile app has the most complete experience during the beta (free tickets and QR codes are app-only for now). The website carries the event catalogue, Wah Happening Corner, carnival pages and the organiser dashboard.

Question 3

Why do event links open in my browser instead of the app?

Accepted Answer

Your phone decides which app opens a link. On Android, open the TiketCaribbean app, go to Settings and tap Open links in the app, or open your phone’s Settings, then Apps, TiketCaribbean, Set as default (or Open by default), and turn on tiketcaribbean.com under supported web addresses. On iPhone, press and hold the link and choose Open in TiketCaribbean; your iPhone remembers the choice. Links opened inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok always open in their own browser: use their menu to open the link in your browser or the app.

Question 4

Is TiketCaribbean only for Trinidad?

Accepted Answer

No. Events span the whole Caribbean and the diaspora. Your profile location and islands of interest shape what is recommended to you, but you can browse any country.

Question 5

When does the TiketCaribbean app launch?

Accepted Answer

It is out now. The Android beta launched on 14 September 2026 and the iPhone app followed on the App Store on 18 September 2026.

Question 6

Will my account carry over from the website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Accounts are shared between the website and the app. Sign in with the same method you used to sign up (email and password, Google, or Apple).

Question 7

Can I buy tickets in the beta?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for events whose organisers we have approved for paid ticketing. You pay by card on Stripe's secure page, with our 6.5% booking fee (minimum 50p per ticket) shown before you pay. Free events on TiketCaribbean give you a free QR ticket, and events sold elsewhere link you to that site. See Buying paid tickets.

Question 8

Will the beta app be replaced by a different app later?

Accepted Answer

No. The same app is updated in place through the stores. Your account, tickets and favourites stay where they are.

Question 9

How old do I need to be to use TiketCaribbean?

Accepted Answer

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Some community spaces apply an 18+ rule for moderation reasons.

Question 10

Do I need an account to browse events?

Accepted Answer

On the website you can browse events, carnivals and Wah Happening Corner without an account. An account is needed to save events, follow organisers, get tickets, post or react.

Question 11

I signed up with Google. Can I add a password?

Accepted Answer

Not at the moment. An account created with Google keeps Google as its sign-in method. Keep using the same method you signed up with.

Question 12

Can I change my username?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the app go to Settings → Account → Username. On the website open Settings → Profile.

Question 13

Can I skip profile setup?

Accepted Answer

You can skip every optional step. Date of birth and location must be completed before you can use the app fully.

Question 14

Who can see my profile?

Accepted Answer

Your name, photo and any community posts are visible to other members. Date of birth, email and location details are not shown publicly. Privacy settings let you decide whether organisers whose events you attend can see your contact details.

Question 15

Will I be notified about events I have saved?

Accepted Answer

Favourite alerts are a notification category you can switch on in Settings → Notifications. They cover changes to events you have saved, such as a date or venue change.

Question 16

Can I share a saved event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open the event and tap Share to send a link or a branded story card to WhatsApp, Instagram Stories, Messages and other apps.

Question 17

Why do I see events from other countries?

Accepted Answer

Recommendations use your location and your islands of interest. Use the Country filter to narrow the list to one place.

Question 18

Why does the list only show upcoming events?

Accepted Answer

Events that have already ended are hidden from browsing. If you attended one, it stays in My Tickets under past events.

Question 19

Can I search by organiser?

Accepted Answer

Search matches event names. To see everything from one organiser, open their profile from any of their events or from Organisers you follow.

Question 20

Why does the time look different from my clock?

Accepted Answer

Times are shown in the event's local time zone, which is noted on the page, so a London fete listed at 10 PM is 10 PM in London.

Question 21

Why is there no ticket button?

Accepted Answer

External listings without a ticket link show "No ticket link". Ask the organiser, or check their profile for a website.

Question 22

Can I see who else is going?

Accepted Answer

Some listings show an interest count if the organiser enabled it. Attendee lists are private to the organiser.

Question 23

Does the organiser know I saved their event?

Accepted Answer

No. Saving is private. Organisers only see aggregate numbers such as tickets issued and, for listings that enable it, an interest count.

Question 24

Is there a limit to how many events I can save?

Accepted Answer

No practical limit. Past events remain in your favourites until you remove them.

Question 25

The event I saved disappeared from Browse Events. Why?

Accepted Answer

Cancelled and ended events are removed from browsing. If you saved it, it is still listed in My Favourites, where you can open it and see its status.

Question 26

An external event was cancelled but the listing is still up. What do I do?

Accepted Answer

Tell us at support@tiketcaribbean.com with the event name and we will update or remove the listing. Contact the seller for your ticket.

Question 27

Where are my tickets?

Accepted Answer

Profile tab → My Tickets (also reachable from the My Tickets quick action on Home). Past events are under the Attended filter.

Question 28

Can I transfer a ticket to a friend?

Accepted Answer

Not in the beta. For free events, your friend can claim their own ticket while availability lasts.

Question 29

Do I need to print anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Show the QR code on your phone. Organisers can also look you up by name if the code will not scan.

Question 30

Can I get tickets on the website?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can get free tickets and buy paid tickets for events hosted on TiketCaribbean on the website as well as in the app, and find them under My Tickets. External listings link you to their sellers.

Question 31

Why is there a security check at checkout?

Accepted Answer

The checkout uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop bots buying up tickets. Most people never see a puzzle; if you do, complete it and carry on.

Question 32

I paid but my tickets are not showing. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Payments can take a few seconds to confirm. Check My Tickets again shortly and look for the confirmation email, including in spam. If nothing arrives, contact support@tiketcaribbean.com with the event name and the time you paid.

Question 33

Who do I contact about the event itself?

Accepted Answer

The organiser runs the event. Their details are on the event page and their organiser profile.

Question 34

Should I ask my bank for a chargeback?

Accepted Answer

Please contact us first at support@tiketcaribbean.com. A refund through us is usually faster, and a chargeback raised after attending or after a refund may lead to your account being closed.

Question 35

My refund has been pending for a long time. What can I do?

Accepted Answer

If an organiser has not answered your request for 14 days, email us and we will chase it.

Question 36

Do I need an account to read Wah Happening Corner?

Accepted Answer

On the website, no. In the app you sign in to use the app at all, but reading the feed has no extra requirement. Reacting, posting and submitting events need an account.

Question 37

Is Wah Happening Corner moderated?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Posts and Word of Mouth events are subject to the Community Guidelines. Photos are screened automatically before publishing, and the team can remove content and restrict posting for accounts that break the rules.

Question 38

What does "Add to di corner" do?

Accepted Answer

It is the create button in the Wah Happening tab. It offers Share an Article, Share a Story (photos), Video, and Submit an Event, and shows your drafts.

Question 39

Can I post on the website too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Approved Community Voices can create articles, image posts and videos at tiketcaribbean.com/wah-happening, and manage them under My Posts.

Question 40

Can I schedule a post?

Accepted Answer

Not in the beta. Save a draft and publish when you are ready.

Question 41

Why was my post removed?

Accepted Answer

The team removes posts that break the Community Guidelines and records a reason. Repeated breaches can lead to a posting restriction. See My post isn't appearing.

Question 42

Can the author see who reacted?

Accepted Answer

Authors see reaction counts. Individual reactions are not listed publicly.

Question 43

Can I react on the website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from the post page in Wah Happening Corner when signed in.

Question 44

Can I write for the editorial sections?

Accepted Answer

The editorial sections are written by the TiketCaribbean team and partners. To publish your own writing, apply to become a Community Voice; strong Community Voice articles are sometimes featured.

Question 45

Can I share an article outside the app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every article has a public web page. Use Share on the post to send the link.

Question 46

Is there an age limit for Community Voices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Community Voices (publishing posts) is for members aged 18 and over. Reading, reacting and submitting Word of Mouth events are open to all members (accounts require a minimum age of 16).

Question 47

Will the person I report know it was me?

Accepted Answer

No. Reports are confidential.

Question 48

Does becoming an organiser cost anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Creating an organiser account, listing external events and creating free events are free. Paid tickets carry no platform fee on Starter (0% of ticket face value, so you keep 100%), and buyers pay a 6.5% booking fee (minimum 50p per ticket). Payouts, payout recipients and advances before the event work the same for every organiser and are never a paid extra. See Fees for paid tickets.

Question 49

Can I be an attendee and an organiser with one account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your account gains the organiser role; you keep your tickets, favourites and community activity.

Question 50

Why is phone verification required?

Accepted Answer

It confirms a real person is behind each organiser account and is the basis of the Verified badge attendees look for. The number is never shown publicly.

Question 51

How long does external listing review take?

Accepted Answer

Usually less than a day. You get a notification when it goes live, or a reason if it was rejected so you can fix and resubmit.

Question 52

Do I need approval to create a free event?

Accepted Answer

No. Free events with TiketCaribbean QR tickets are open to every organiser. Only paid ticketing needs approval for your business.

Question 53

How do I create a paid event?

Accepted Answer

Request paid ticketing from Create Event. Our team reviews each business, and your payout bank account must be in a country we can pay out to. Once you are approved, create the paid event in the app or in the web dashboard, and set up payouts on the web dashboard before you publish. See Selling paid tickets.

Question 54

Do I need a logo before I can create events?

Accepted Answer

Your organiser profile needs a profile photo or logo, which is part of onboarding. Event cover images are separate and required per event.

Question 55

My listing was rejected. Can I resubmit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open it from My events, read the reason, edit and publish again. It goes back into review.

Question 56

Can I duplicate a past event?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Create a new event; the wizard remembers your organiser details.

Question 57

Why can't I change the date of my free event in the app?

Accepted Answer

Date, time and pricing lock after creation in the app to protect ticket holders. Reschedule from the web dashboard, which notifies everyone with a ticket.

Question 58

Do I need a verified profile to publish?

Accepted Answer

Phone verification is completed during organiser onboarding, before you can create events. Free and paid events additionally require the profile photo/logo from onboarding, and paid events need your business to be approved for paid ticketing.

Question 59

Can I publish a private event?

Accepted Answer

Yes. External listings have a Private listing setting, and free and paid events can be made private when you create them. A private event is left out of browse, search, feeds, digests and your public profile, but anyone with the link can view the page and get or buy tickets. A link can be forwarded, so private is not a way to control who attends.

Question 60

Can I drop a pin manually?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. The pin comes from the address text. Improving the address is the way to move it. Tell us via My event information is wrong if a correct address still lands in the wrong place.

Question 61

Why is my event under the wrong country?

Accepted Answer

Country comes from the value you chose, not from the address. Edit the event and change the country.

Question 62

Can attendees transfer or resell free tickets?

Accepted Answer

No. Tickets are tied to the account that claimed them. Attendees who cannot come can simply not use the ticket; if the event sold out, the waitlist releases spots when you enable it.

Question 63

Can I limit how many free tickets one person claims?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with a per-order limit on the ticket type. There is also a cap on the total across ticket types in one order.

Question 64

What fees does paid ticketing have?

Accepted Answer

Buyers pay a 6.5% booking fee (minimum 50p per ticket) on top of the ticket price, shown before they pay; there is no booking fee on free events. Organisers on the Starter plan pay no platform fee: 0% of ticket face value, so you keep 100% at settlement; the Pro and Scale plans are not available yet. Card processing and payout fees are paid by us. Founding organisers keep that 0% locked for years 1 to 3 of the founding programme even if the standard rate changes, then pay up to 1 percentage point below the published rate in year 4, then the published rate. See Fees for paid tickets.
