    TiketCaribbean Safety

Issued by CaribraConnect Technology Ltd, trading as TiketCaribbean. Effective 6 September 2026. Last updated 6 September 2026.

    In short

Accounts are for people 16 and over. There are no direct messages, comments or public member profiles, so members cannot be contacted through the platform. Images are screened before they appear, 18+ content is hidden from under-18s, and anyone can report or block from the app.

Age is self-declared and reports are reviewed by a small team without a promised response time. Section 4 lists everything that is not in place yet.

    1. What TiketCaribbean is, and is not

TiketCaribbean is an events and community platform. Members browse events and carnivals, register for free events, follow organisers, and read and publish posts in Wah Happening Corner. Some members are organisers with public business pages; some are approved Community Voices who publish photos, videos and articles.

It is not a messaging app and it is not a social network in the usual sense. There are no direct messages, no comments, no replies and no mentions. Members cannot search for each other and have no public profile. The only way one member's identity reaches another is through a published post (display name, photo, and any social handle the author chose to add) or an organiser's public business page.

    2. Age rules

    • You must be 16 or over to have an account. We ask for your date of birth during setup, and both the app and our servers reject a date that makes you younger than 16.
    • We rely on the date you enter. We do not currently check it against an ID document or any other source, so a determined person can lie about their age. This is the biggest limitation of our protections and we say so plainly.
    • If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16 we close it and delete the personal information. Parents can tell us at support@tiketcaribbean.com with "Child safety" in the subject line.
    • Members aged 16 and 17 should have a parent or guardian's permission. We do not collect it; it is a rule we ask families to honour.
    • Events can carry an age restriction (for example 18+). Organisers set and enforce it at the door; we show it on the listing.

    3. Protections that are in place

    Safety controls
    ControlWhat it does
No messagingNo direct messages, comments, replies or mentions exist, so adults cannot contact young members through the platform.
No public profiles or member searchMembers cannot be found or viewed. Only organisers have public pages, and only published posts show an author.
Private by defaultProfile visibility is private and cannot be made public. Precise location is off until you allow it, and is used only while the map or nearby features are open.
18+ content hidden from under-18sPosts our team marks 18+ are hidden from members under 18 and from anyone whose date of birth is unknown. It fails closed: if we cannot confirm you are an adult, you do not see it.
Automated image screeningEvery uploaded image is checked by Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch before it is shown. Clearly explicit or violent images are refused; borderline ones are held for a person to review.
Photo and video metadata removedImages and videos are re-encoded when uploaded, which strips embedded location and camera data from the published copy.
Report and blockAny post or organiser can be reported from the app menu or from the post page on the website, with a reason including a dedicated "child safety" option. Any member or organiser can be blocked; blocked authors disappear from your feed and are listed in Settings.
Human review and alertsCommunity Voice applications and Word of Mouth event submissions are approved by a person. Reports go to a moderation queue that staff review, child-safety reports first; reports about child safety, sexual content, self-harm, violence, harassment or illegal activity also email the team the moment they arrive.
Posting restrictions with noticeStaff can restrict an account from posting, remove or restore content, and mark content 18+. The member is told in-app what happened, why, and how to appeal.
Under-18 privacy defaultsFor members under 18, contact sharing with organisers and inclusion in organiser statistics start off, and Instagram or TikTok handles are never shown on their posts.
Under-16 cleanupAn account that declares a date of birth under 16 and does not correct it within a day is removed automatically.
Account controlsDelete your account or export your data from Settings at any time. Login lockout and rate limiting protect against password guessing.
Organiser verificationOrganisers verify an email address and phone number before they can publish; badges show which checks were completed.

    4. What is not in place yet

We would rather you know this than find out.

    • No age verification. Age is self-declared.
    • No response-time promise for reports. High-severity reports email the team immediately, but they are reviewed by a small team during working hours. We do not run 24-hour moderation.
    • No in-app appeal button. You are notified in-app when content is removed or posting is restricted; appeals are by email.
    • Video is not screened automatically; only images are.
    • Forums and shared albums are not live. We will do a fresh safety assessment before they are.

    5. For parents and guardians

    • Ask to see the app with your young person. Settings, then Privacy, shows every sharing switch; Settings, then Blocked accounts, shows who they have blocked.
    • Registering for a free event shares their name with that organiser, and their email and phone only if contact sharing is on.
    • Published posts are public on the internet, including to search engines. Talk about what they are comfortable sharing. Social handles are never shown on an under-18's posts.
    • Events have real-world safety considerations that are the organiser's responsibility: venue, security, age checks, alcohol. TiketCaribbean lists the event; it does not run it.
    • To remove a child's account, ask them to delete it from Settings, or email us with "Child safety" in the subject line and we will handle it.

    6. How to report a problem

    In the app

Open the post or organiser page, tap the menu, and choose Report or Block. Pick the closest reason: spam, harassment, hate speech, violence, nudity or sexual content, self-harm, child safety, scam or fraud, intellectual property, illegal activity, or something else. Add details if you can. On the website, the Report button on a post page does the same.

    By email

Write to support@tiketcaribbean.com with a subject line that tells us how serious it is: "Report" for a rules breach, "Urgent" for a threat to someone's safety, "Child safety" for anything involving a person under 18. Include a link or the title of the content.

    7. Our legal duties

In the UK, TiketCaribbean is a user-to-user service under the Online Safety Act 2023. That means we must assess the risks of illegal content and of content harmful to children, act on them, and give you ways to report and complain. We handle personal information about young members under the UK GDPR and the ICO's Children's code, which is why profiles are private, location is off by default and we collect only what we need.

We are completing our Online Safety Act risk assessments for the beta and will summarise the outcome on this page. Until then, treat this page as an honest account of the controls that exist, not as a statement that every legal requirement is met.

    8. Common questions

How does TiketCaribbean protect children and young people?
Accounts are 16+, checked by date of birth. There are no direct messages, comments or public profiles, so adults cannot contact young members through the platform. Precise location is off by default, images are screened before they appear, 18+ content is hidden from under-18s, and anyone can report or block from the app. Age is self-declared, so these protections are not a substitute for parental involvement.
Can strangers contact my child on TiketCaribbean?
Not through the platform. There is no messaging, commenting or mentioning, members cannot be searched for, and social handles are never shown on posts by creators under 18.
How do I report a user?
In the app open the post or organiser page, tap the menu and choose Report, pick a reason and submit. On the website use the Report button on the post page or organiser profile. Choose Block from the same place to stop seeing them. You can also email support@tiketcaribbean.com with "Report", "Urgent" or "Child safety" in the subject line.
My child is under 16 and has an account. What do I do?
Email support@tiketcaribbean.com with "Child safety" in the subject line and the email address on the account. We will close the account and delete the personal information.
