How do refunds work for paid tickets?
Each paid event shows the organiser's refund rule before you buy. Request a refund from the ticket in My Tickets and the amount you are owed is shown before you confirm. If the organiser cancels, refunds are worked out for you automatically. Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually take 5 to 10 working days to arrive.

Asking for a refund
- 1
Open the ticket in My Tickets
Choose Request refund. The amount you are entitled to under the event's refund rule is shown before you confirm. Refund requests close 24 hours before the event starts.
- 2
Confirm the request
Some organisers approve requests themselves; your ticket stops being valid for entry while the request is open, and becomes valid again if they decline.
- 3
Wait for the money
Once approved, the refund goes back to your original payment method. It usually takes 5 to 10 working days to reach you, depending on your bank.
When the refund is not your choice
- The organiser cancels: a refund is worked out for every ticket under the cancellation part of the refund rule, in full if the organiser recorded no rule. You do not need to do anything.
- The organiser refunds or removes your ticket: treated like a cancellation of your ticket, and you are notified.
- The event is rescheduled or materially changed: your ticket stays valid, or you can ask for a refund of the ticket price within 14 days of being told. Requests from My Tickets close 24 hours before the event starts.
Is the booking fee refunded?
| Why the refund is made | Booking fee |
|---|---|
| The organiser cancels, or refunds or removes your ticket | Refunded in the same proportion as the ticket |
| We remove the event, the organiser recorded no refund rule, or we made a mistake | Refunded in full |
| You change your mind, under the organiser's time bands | Not refunded |
| You ask for a refund after a reschedule | Not refunded |
Your statutory rights
Whatever the refund rule says, your rights under consumer law still apply. The Refund and Cancellations Policy has the full terms.
