Haiti Kanaval 2027
Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Haiti's national Kanaval fills Port-au-Prince's streets with rara-influenced brass bands, konpa and rap kreyòl trucks, and elaborately costumed troupes in the days before Ash Wednesday. Jacmel, on the south coast, runs its own carnival about two weeks earlier, known internationally for oversized papier-mâché masks and satirical costumes.
