Caribbean Tech Collective x Deliveroo: Inside the Product Mixer on Personalisation at Scale

As consumer tech platforms mature, the question is no longer whether to personalise.

It is how to do it at scale, without friction, and in ways that actually move the needle.

That is the focus of the upcoming Product Mixer hosted by Caribbean Tech Collective in partnership with Deliveroo and Black in Roo - an evening bringing together builders across product, engineering, data, AI, and growth to unpack what personalisation really looks like in practice.

Taking place on Thursday 26 February at 1 Cousin Lane in London, the session will blend panel insights, guided networking, and Caribbean culture in the CTC space.

    The Conversation: Beyond Recommendations

The panel brings together leaders working at some of the world's most influential consumer platforms:

  1. Zania Barnum, Product Design Manager at Meta
  2. Richard Cummins, Ad Product Monetisation at Spotify
  3. Alexander Thomas, Product Manager at Deliveroo
  4. Daniel Thomas, Geospatial Data Scientist at Deliveroo (Moderator)
  5. Speaker titles and affiliations are listed for context only. The session will not cover confidential, proprietary, or non-public information.

    Together, they will explore:

  6. Personalisation: moving from recommendations to prediction
  7. Designing B2C platforms for scale across product, strategy, and growth
  8. Network effects and their impact on product decisions
  9. Operating models that evolve alongside increasing complexity
  10. For teams building in consumer tech, these are not abstract ideas. They are daily trade-offs between experimentation and stability, precision and scale.

    What to Expect

This is not just a panel.

    Attendees can expect:

  11. A candid discussion with leaders from global tech platforms
  12. Intentional networking with guided introductions
  13. Practical takeaways you can apply immediately
  14. Caribbean food and music woven into the evening
  15. The room itself will be curated, bringing together professionals, engineers, founders, investors, and members of the Caribbean tech diaspora working across Product Design, UX, Engineering, Platform, Data, AI/ML, Product Marketing, Operations, and Strategy.

If you are building, scaling, or thinking deeply about personalisation in consumer technology, this one is designed for you.

    The Organisations Behind the Mixer

Black in Roo exists to foster empowerment, unity, and professional growth for individuals from the African and Caribbean diaspora within Deliveroo. As one of Deliveroo's Employee Resource Groups, it helps strengthen belonging and connection across the company.

At Deliveroo, ERGs are voluntary, employee-led communities supported by the DE&I team. They play a key role in shaping culture, engagement, and representation across the organisation.

Launched in July 2025, Caribbean Tech Collective connects founders, engineers, and investors from the Caribbean and its global diaspora, creating high-signal spaces for people building at the intersection of technology.

Together, this collaboration reflects something bigger than a single event. It is about representation at the product table. It is about scaling ideas responsibly. And it is about ensuring Caribbean talent is visible in the rooms where global platforms are designed.
