    Why we ask for this

    We only ask for what we actually need, and we try to be upfront about why. Here is what each thing is for.

    Your date of birth

    You need to be 16 or older to have a TiketCaribbean account. That minimum is set in our Terms of Service. Your date of birth also lets us handle events that have an age limit. Most events are open to everyone, but an organiser can mark theirs 18+, and knowing your age means we only show you the ones you can actually book. Your birthday is never shown on your profile.

    Where you're based

    Your country and home island tell us where to look for events you might like, both near you and across the Caribbean. They also set your default currency. If you are part of the diaspora and not from the Caribbean, you can say so and we adjust what we show you.

    The optional questions

    Interests, music, gender, how often you go out: all optional, and you can skip any of them. They help us recommend events you will actually want to go to, and they give organisers a rough picture of who shows up, never anything that identifies you. Gender is private by default and never appears on your profile.

    Your social handles

    If you add them, social handles are used to verify who you are to organisers and creators, for example when you apply to Community Voices. They stay private unless you choose to share them.

    We read every Community Voice application ourselves before approving it. That review step keeps bots and fraudulent accounts from posting as contributors, so what you read in the community feed is from a real person.

    The name on your ticket

    At checkout we ask for your name as it appears on your government ID. Some organisers check ID at the door, so the name on the ticket has to match. It also makes tickets harder to fake or resell.

    What organisers can see

    When you buy or register for an event, its organiser gets the details they need to run it and let you in. Anything we use beyond that for trends and insights is stripped of anything that identifies you. We do not sell your data, and you can manage what you share with organisers in Settings.

    Location

    If you turn on location, we use it at city level to show events near you. We do not track your exact position.
